Marc Gladstone

Marc started his formal music training at the age of seven. By age ten his obvious talent led his instructor to recommend Marc study with the renowned Edward Parker, who taught Marc through his rebellious teenage years, during which he quit three times, once to concentrate on playing drums for six years. Marc's further list as a multi-instrumentalist includes french horn, saxophone, trombone, flute and clarinet.

Thankfully Marc settled on what he knew and loved best, the piano, where he constantly scored first class honours in exams as well as winning many competitions and music festivals.

Marc entered the professional world of music at the ripe old age of eighteen, straight from high school to the road, performing live ever since. His musical career spans twenty-seven years to date, playing with top Vancouver acts such as Army, Renegade and Cover Story. He won 'Best Keyboard Performance' in 1988 at Vancouver's Spotlight Competition. In 1990 his original band 'Destiny', won locally in the Labatt's Blue Band Warz based solely on the strength of Marc's ballad, 'Laughter Thru Tears'.

Marc performed over six years with Doug & The Slugs featuring the late Doug Bennett, playing to festival audiences of ten thousand or more, alongside acts like Alice Cooper, 38 Special, Kim Mitchell, Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Def Leppard, Sammy Hagar, The Guess Who, Judas Priest and others. Marc wrote and maintained the 'Road Diary' section on the Slugs website, detailing many adventures during his tenure with the band. He was also a featured member of Nick Gilder & Sweeney Todd.

Marc has been involved in many studio recording projects, played keyboards and sang background vocals for Brandon Paris Band, provided original music for websites and conventions, and is presently nurturing three projects as main composer. He remains in demand as piano teacher in the Vancouver area.

A second cousin of original Prism keyboardist John Hall, Marc's current orchestral keyboard work in Prism is a perfect match of his power to the Prism trademark sound.
